Chocolate and Red Wine Festival

As is our custom we will be pairing three wines with three chocolates from Schocolat over Valentine's Day/Presidents Day weekend.  Last year one person commented that the chocolates from Schocolat were the best she had ever had.  I would certainly agree that they are the best American made chocolates it has been my pleasure to try.  We will be pairing wines with these chocolates during normal tasting room hours, Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 11 AM to 6 PM.

The other Quincy area wineries will also be serving up chocolate on Saturday and Sunday.  Both Cave B and Jones of Washington will be providing delectable tastes and heading towards Wenatchee Martin Scott will of course be their usual hospitable selves.  All the Wenatchee, Leavenworth, and Chelan wineries will also be geared up with chocolate so drop in here on your way to just about anywhere.

Summer Schedule 2010

  1. July 3,  Annual Volunteer Firefighter Fundraiser,  Standing Room Only will return with their eminently danceable mix of country and blues, http://www.myspace.com/srodrummer.  Food will be available for purchase, $10 at the door goes to the firefighters.
  2. August 14;  Third Annual Bread, Cheese, & Cured Meat Festival,  we bring together a cheese maker, a baker, and a cured meat producer - all from North Central Washington.  A chef also joins us to combine these elements in imaginative ways.  Finally the band Passing Liberty provides reggae tinged dancing tunes, http://www.myspace.com/passingliberty.  5 PM, $10 at the door for the musicians and artisan foods available for purchase.
  3. August 20 & 21;  Summer Theater from Quincy Valley Allied Arts.  Melodrama or comedy at its finest, $10 at the door goes to Allied Arts.
  4. September 4;  Sixth Annual Tomatofare,  the heirloom tomato growers of Grant County will come once again with their wildly colored and shaped and tasty tomatoes.  The growers will have tomatoes available for tasting and sale.  Several chefs will showcase these same tomatoes on their grills, the salsa maker will whip up as much salsa as you can carry away, and two bands will entertain with South American folk music and down home blues.  4 PM, $20 pre purchase and $25 at the door, includes some food and music.
  5. September 10;  Third Farmer Consumer Awareness Day Chef Extravaganza, three different chefs are provided with food stuff all from within twenty miles of Quincy.  They work with trout, beef, pork, potatoes, apples, lima beans, dried beans, tomatoes, peppers and much more and each chef produces different plates.  Live music keeps the evening lively as the chefs work away.  5PM, $30 at the door for all you can eat.
  6. October 9;  Fourth Annual Shellfish Festival,  three types of oysters, mussels, clams, sausage and a chef all come together for our celebration of the fruits of the sea.  Live music keeps you dancing under the big tent and the fire takes the chill out of the autumn air.  11 AM to 6 PM, $10 at the door for the musicians and plates of raw or cooked shellfish or sausage available for purchase.

More events will be added, such as the Meat & Potato Festival as we get closer to the summer. Sign up for our e-mail list for further updates (email info@whiteheronwine.com to sign up, or call the winery.)
